watching a Porsche 911 Turbo vedio

Porsche exploded onto the scene in 1965 as the radically styled rear engine 911 took the auto mode of world by storm. As all the mode of journalists raved to the time.

Here was a true high-performance sports car that was equally at home being driven around town as it was dominating on the race track. And a few designs have stayed as true to their origins. Our test car was the flagship of the Porsche lineup, the 911 Turbo. The 19-inch forged billy alloy wheels, prominent rear fender air intake scoops, and split articulating rear spoiler highlight the turbo’s design.

The 3.6 liter 6 cylinder turbo charged motor produces 480 horsepower and 460 pounds-feet of torque in standard trail. But opting for the sport chrono package brings the availabel torque up to 505 pounds-feet, enough to propell the all-will drive turbo from 0 to 60 in 3.7 seconds when equipped with a manual 6 speed transmission.

Choosing the 5 speed tiptronic automatice transmission ends less than 1 second to the 0 to 60 time. And it delivers this performence while achieving an EPA estimated fuel consumption of 18 miles per gallon city, and 25 highway.

Equally as impressive on the opposite side of a performence ledger, our test 911 came with the 8500 dollars rummy composite disbrake option. That features 6-piston 15-inch drilled unvented front discs, 14-inch vented discs in the rear with ABS * ability management technology in. Occupants of the 911 are treated to a full leather interior. As they’re based in the audio all put off a 13-speaker Bose Surround Sound System kept on course by the onboard computer and navigation system and protected by a full complement of airbags.

MSRP for the 07 Porsche 911 Turbo is 142,510 dollars. Just encase your considering owning, one of the world’s premiere sports cars.

Maturity in racing terms and race car

Maturity in racing terms is different than in regular life, he said. It comes earlier than in the past, he added, because drivers now start to race much sooner.
“When they start karting when they’re eight years old and they experience all the highs and lows and the discipline,” Symonds said, “the maturity that they have by the time that they get into Formula One these days at 21, 22, 23 years old is absolutely incredible.”
“But being young, they just sometimes trip over in those little ways that the older person won’t,” he added. “It’s in things like self-confidence.”

Experience and maturity also have a paradoxical downside, according to Patrick Head, a part owner and director of the Williams team.

“Maturity means experience, and with experience usually comes a certain amount of wisdom,” Head said. “But sometimes with that wisdom comes a certain caution, as well. So sometimes as a driver becomes more experienced he maybe loses a little bit of speed. In some conditions, say in wet conditions or difficult conditions, sometimes they lose a bit of speed.”

Most team directors aim for a combination of age and experience, as Toro Rosso has done with Sébastien Bourdais, 29, and Sebastian Vettel, 20.

“You certainly would never want two young drivers in a team,” said Brawn. “It’s too easy to get lost in terms of the direction the team takes. And I think it is important that you have at least one senior driver in the team. That is the optimum: To have that old stagehand and the young apprentice coming through.”
The Force India team hired the experienced Giancarlo Fisichella, 35, to race with Adrian Sutil, 25, who is in his second year of Formula One. Sutil said that Fisichella’s experience not only helps the team, it helps him.

“It’s very helpful for a young driver because you need to learn so much in Formula One,” Sutil said, “and it takes years to have this knowledge, to be a race winner, to be able to win races with your experience.” Read the rest of this entry »

Read in file using multiple delimiters

It is possible to read in file using multiple delimiters. The example file below uses either exclamation points or plus signs as delimiters.
22!2930!409917+3350+474922!2640!379920+3250+481615+4080!7827
By using delimiter=’!+’ on the infile statement, SAS will recognize both of these as valid delimiters.
DATA cars;  INFILE ‘readdel2.txt’ DELIMITER=’!+’ ;  INPUT mpg weight price;RUN; PROC PRINT DATA=cars;RUN;
As you can see in the output below, the data was read properly.
OBS    MPG    WEIGHT    PRICE 1      22     2930      4099 2      17     3350      4749 3      22     2640      3799 4      20     3250      4816 5      15     4080      7827
